May time is Bluebell time in the New Forest. In a few special locations the forest floor gets covered in a carpet of these beautiful, lilac flowers, the Broomy Inclosure is one the best.
This was my first visit and all a little over whelming, in a good way. There were endless sites and options for compositions with the light changing across the morning. On this occasion the sun created challenges as it was blazed through the trees leaving a patch work of brightly lit flowers and dark shadows, tricky conditions to get the right photograph.
This is a favourite from that morning. It shows the incredible density of these little plants under mighty beech trees and their canopy of rich green leaves giving protective shade.
