This sturdy foot bridge, built to take the weight of New Forest ponies is over the Ober Water river, here it’s tucked away close to the Rhinefield House Hotel (near Brockenhurst). I walk here with my dogs and knew I had to go there early with my camera for this idyllic scene.
The shot was taken in mid May shortly after sunrise. The soft light gently illuminated the fresh spring leaves on the trees. With the river looking like a perfect mirror and the footpath leading into the distance there’s almost too much to the photograph. However, it’s a classic forest scene and I like a path disappearing into the distance to draw the eye in.
The even light made exposure choices easy and, as it was early I had this beautiful scene all to myself.
