This area of the New Forest, not far from New Park, caught my eye while out enjoying the forest from the seat of my mountain bike. Heavy rain had transformed this area into something haunting and beautiful. Dozens of bare trees stood like sentinels in the flood water, their skeletal branches reaching out under the pale winter sky at sunrise. The still water created perfect reflections, intensifying this already spooky scene.
