This is one of a series taken on one shoot in this unusual location. The pond is up on the plain and mainly out of sight for surrounding paths. This is one of the first shots I took on a wintery but still December morning. The sun was only just coming up, there was little colour or cloud in the sky above and a blanket of thin low mist hung all around. The effect of an almost perfect mirror image in the pond water made for an ethereal and tranquil New Forest scene.
There are so many composition opportunities here I didn’t know where to start. I got quite a few, but this is my favourite.
