The New Forest ponies are a hardy bunch. On this day near Mockbeggar the conditions were a total white out of freezing fog at about -5C.
Whilst waiting (hoping) for an amazing sunrise - which never happened - I noticed groups of ponies looking with ice on their manes and backs.
Their colours really popped against the relentless grey of the day and somehow they manage to find enough to eat.
