One of the many reasons I love the New Forest is its diversity of landscapes from dense woodland to open plains, coastline and beautiful rivers.
Buckler’s Hard on the Beaulieu River is a historical ship building yard where naval ships were built from 1744. It’s steeped in history and very picturesque. The original boat builders houses still stand with some setup as they would have been then for visitors to see. There is much to see, learn and do there including many activities on the water.
On this (very early) day in May I wanted something different which showed the beauty of the river and tranquillity of the location. It all paid off when I happened to see these yachts moored in the foreground and others curling back into the distance giving real depth to the photograph. The whole scene bathed in lovely warm sunrise sunshine.
